Roller Blinds check measure guide

Thank you for shopping with The Curtain and Blind Company. Every effort has been made to ensure we've delivered perfectly made roller blinds you'll enjoy for many years to come. However, if you feel something isn’t quite right, we’d like to resolve your concerns.

To help identify any possible issues, we require the following troubleshooting steps to be undertaken and if required, some check measure information to be shared.

It's essential we receive all the requested information so we can accurately assess your situation. If the information is not shared in full, it may prevent us from offering a satisfactory resolution such as a repair or replacement.

Troubleshooting steps

If you have attempted to install your blinds but feel there is a problem with the size or fitting, please undertake the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Ensure you have installed your blinds exactly as per the installation instructions.

2. Check the bracket fixing locations are exactly aligned with where you measured from originally.

3. Using a spirit level, check that your blind is fitted horizontally level across its entire width.

4. Check your brackets are securely fixed and have not started to pull away from the fixing surface.

5. If you find the blind is just a few millimetres too narrow to reach each bracket, the control drive pin can be adjusted to gain some extra width - twist the clear plastic wheel in a clockwise direction and the pin mechanism will extend.

6. If you find the newly installed blind will not fully roll up or down, remove the blind from the brackets, roll the blind material up fully and firmly, then re-attach it. This should ensure the clear chain stopper is now in the correct location to allow smooth operation.

If concerns persist, please undertake the following check measure process.

Check measure

If the supplied blind does not seem to fit in the recess you originally measured for, please provide the following check measure details for our customer support team to review.

Measure the width of the window recess in three areas: top (where the brackets are fitted), middle and bottom.

Provide the check measure information along with a short video clip showing the entire tape measure placed across each area of the recess width. Please ensure the tape measure runs in a straight horizontal line from one side to another.

It is extremely rare to experience any product size or fitting concerns with face fitted blinds due to there being much more freedom to adjust the final position to your liking. However, if you feel your blind size is not accurate, please provide measurements of the blind width and/or drop (with supporting videos) to help us identify and resolve any concerns.

Email the relevant check measurement information and supporting videos to info@curtainandblindco.com.au. If needed, use a file sharing service such as Google Drive, Dropbox or WeTransfer to send your video files.

We’ll get back to you at the earliest possible opportunity with our assessment and proposed next steps. This may include a request for additional details if we believe they are needed.

While the assessment is underway, we also recommend reviewing our measuring and installation guides to re-familiarise yourself with these processes, along with our Terms & Conditions.

Important Safety Information

The Australian Competition and Consumer (Corded Internal Window Coverings) Safety Standard states that a corded internal window covering ‘must be installed in a way that a loose cord cannot form a loop 220mm or longer and at less than 1600mm above floor level’.
