At The Curtain and Blind Company, we use carefully chosen third-party freight logistics companies to efficiently deliver our curtains, blinds and shutters straight to your door, Australia-wide. Once your order is completed, checked and ready for dispatch, you’ll receive email notification with tracking information to follow the delivery progress.

Please note that all of our customer orders are shipped with automatic 'authority to leave' advice for the freight partner or their local courier. However, if they cannot find a secure area to leave your goods, a card should be left with customer collection and/or re-delivery details. If this is not the case, please contact us for support.
Returns
All of our products are custom-made to match our customer’s exact measurements and customisation choices which means we cannot accept returns where products have been:
• Incorrectly measured;
• The wrong colour has been ordered;
• The colour does not meet with your expectations;
• There has been a change of a mind since placing the order.
To help avoid dissatisfaction, it is of the utmost importance that customers follow our measuring guide before placing an order. Additionally, please allow ample time to order samples before ordering your products.
If a Curtain & Blind Co. product has been supplied with a manufacturing fault or is lost while being shipped, we will need to establish the cause before providing a like-for-like replacement.
Colour representation
Colours and textures represented on our website are the closest possible matches we can provide but cannot be 100% colour correct. The colours shown on our website will also differ from viewer to viewer based on unique factors such as:
• The type of screen you are viewing the website on;
• Colour & contrast calibrations for that screen;
• External ambient lighting conditions;
• Subjective colour perceptions.

Why are your curtains cheaper than many of your competitors?
Our curtains are made in our own West Australian factory, which means we can keep our costs down and pass the savings on to you, all while maintaining the highest standards in manufacturing quality.
Can I get fabric samples before ordering?
Yes, of course! We normally offer 10 samples for just $5 including free Australia-wide express postage, although we sometimes offer up to 10 samples (or 1 favourites pack) for free! Ordering is simple, just head to the 'Samples' page and select individual fabric samples by type, colour or fabric - or save some time and choose from our curated favourites packs!
I’m not sure which fabric to choose from my samples?
We’re always happy to answer any questions or provide some specific advice or tips on fabric choices. You can also email photos of your space for our team to review and provide ideas on.
What payment options do you offer?
We accept Visa and Mastercard as credit card payment but not American Express. PayTo, PayPal, Afterpay and Zip Pay are all available as well. A direct bank transfer payment can be arranged if no other payment options are possible. Please contact us if you'd like to discuss your payment options.
How long does an order take to arrive?
On average, our curtain orders take between 4 - 6 weeks to make and deliver. With blinds, this can be a little faster, typically 3 weeks. Due to the relative complexity and size, Shutters take around 8 weeks.
Can I track my order progress and delivery?
Yes, absolutely. Once your order has moved into production, we will notify you. Then, when your order has been dispatched, we will send you a further email notification with the shipping and tracking information included. If you are looking for an update on the status of an order that has not been shipped, feel free to get in touch and we can provide an on-the-spot update by phone or email.
Do you ship curtains and blinds separately?
Yes, we do. Some of our blinds are manufactured at different factories with their own completion schedules and as we always ship our products as soon as they are ready, you’ll likely receive two separate order deliveries, even if you ordered your curtains and blinds together. You will also receive dedicated tracking information for each consignment. If you only receive one part of your order, don’t worry, the other will be close behind. As always, feel free to contact us if you’d like an update on your order delivery status.
What do you charge for delivery?
For orders of over $199 value, we offer free delivery to major Australian metro locations. This excludes shutter orders, which cannot be shipped for free due to the parcel sizes and weights involved. Delivery costs for shutter orders are calculated at checkout before payment is required. For orders of less than $199 value or for orders being shipped to outer metro and regional areas (outside of the Northern Territory and Tasmania), we charge a modest $50 flat fee. Orders dispatched to the Northern Territory and Tasmania carry a standard flat fee of $150. We want to be as transparent as possible with our shipping costs, so please review our ‘Delivery & Returns’ page (via the link in the website footer) before ordering.
What is your returns policy?
As all our products are custom made-to-measure, we do not accept returns. However, in the rare event something with your order doesn't meet your expectations, we will always work with you to make it right. Please visit our 'Terms & Conditions' page to review our returns and warranty information in full.
Can I send my builders plans to you to quote from?
Absolutely! Keep in mind, the best way to get a quote is through our website with measurements taken in person. We know however, sometimes you need to have an idea of cost before a build is complete. Please reach out to one of our friendly service staff with your plans, however, we may also ask for a window schedule which can typically be supplied by your builder.
Do I need to make any deductions?
As long as you make the relevant style selections when customising your order, we'll take care of all the deductions. This includes allowing for track height, finished position and curtain fullness.
Do you provide a measuring and installation service?
We're able to keep the price of our curtains and blinds so low because our customers do their own measuring and installation! However, our website offers a wealth of detailed information on how to measure and install, and we're very happy to talk you through the entire process by phone or email.
Is self-installation difficult?
We’ve gone to great lengths to ensure all of our DIY installation processes are as simple as possible for a first-timer or experienced DIYer. There are lots of written and video guides on our website, printed instructions are sent with every order and we're always happy to help by email or phone!
I don't think I have enough installation parts!
If you are missing any installation parts such as brackets and screws, or the amount of curtain hooks and track runners you've been sent don't seem to match, please contact our support team on 1300 301 368 or info@curtainandblindco.com.au and they'll be happy to rectify the situation for you as quickly as possible!
I can't find my wall studs!
If you cannot confidently locate your studs (or battens), we recommend sourcing your own wall plugs or hollow wall anchors. These are required for fixing screws into plasterboard when there is no stud or batten present.
How to drill into gyprock or plasterboard?
Use a stud finder to locate your wall studs. This will inform the location of your brackets. For curtains, use the provided 32mm 5-8G multipurpose screws to fasten the brackets into the surface and stud. For blinds, use the 20mm 5-8G multipurpose screws to fasten the brackets into the surface and stud.
How to drill into brick or masonry?
Drill pilot holes before using a 6mm masonry drill bit to drill 35mm deep holes. Insert 8 gauge (6mm) wall plugs into the holes. Fasten the brackets to the wall using a Phillips head screwdriver (or impact drive bit) and the provided screws.
Why do I need to measure in three places?
As windows can often be slightly irregular or not perfectly square, when measuring for recess fitted blinds, it's essential to measure in three places - top, middle, and bottom (for both width and height). Then, when ordering, use the smallest of the measurements (if they differ) as this will ensure you'll get the most accurate fit.
When should I face fit my blind?
If your window frame isn't deep enough for a recess fit, and you want to make your window appear larger or hide unattractive frames, face fit is the way to go. This option blocks out more light by covering the entire window opening, and is perfect if there are obstructions like handles or security sensors within the recess.
When should I recess fit my blind?
If your window frame has enough depth to accommodate the blind without any obstructions, and you love a streamlined, integrated look where the blind fits neatly within the frame, a recess fit is perfect for you. It maintains the charm of your decorative window trim or moldings, and maximizes space by keeping the blind flush with the window.
How to measure for bay windows?
Bay windows can be a little tricky at time. Please email through a photo of your bay windows to our service team. We can let you know what furnishings we’d recommend. There are also 'How to' guides on measuring for bay windows in our ‘Measure and Install’ area.
What is the difference between a blockout, light-filtering and sunscreen roller blind?
Each roller blind fabric is designed to do a slightly different job. Blockout roller blind fabrics feature a closed weave that prevents external light from travelling through the fabric itself. This provides exceptional light blocking and UV protection but at the cost of any outward sight-lines. Light-filtering fabrics allow filtered natural light to brighten the room while obscuring any clear visibility inwards and outwards. Sunscreen fabrics use a slightly open weave that reduces internal glare and heat transfer, while still offering partial views to the outside and daytime privacy inside. For double rollers, we will always pair a blockout with a sunscreen to provide the most flexible usage solutions for day and night.
Why do you have minimum and maximum roller blind widths and drops?
We have minimum widths and drops for our blinds due to the nature of manufacturing. It is not feasible for us to make and ship blinds that are too small and our durable blind fabrics cannot be sewn together to create a bigger piece of fabric (like some of our curtain fabrics can be). Excessive widths or drops also lead to products weights that are hard to ship and even harder to self-install.
Can you make roller blinds that fit into corner facing windows?
We sure can! Please get in contact with us if you have 2 blinds within a corner. We will need to clarify a few details with you to ensure we make the correct amendments to your measurements and supply perfectly fitting blinds.
How do I clean roller blinds?
Cleaning roller blinds involves dusting them with a feather duster or vacuum cleaner, spot cleaning stains with a mild detergent and water solution, rinsing with clean water, air drying thoroughly, and maintaining regular dusting to keep them clean and fresh. For heavy stains, consider professional cleaning or following the manufacturer's instructions for washing.
My roller blinds seem to have creases, can I get rid of them?
Horizontal lines may appear on the roller blind fabric due to their packaging. These will fade once the blind has been hanging fully extended for at least 3 days. In the event this issue persists, please contact us for further guidance.
Can I switch my roller blind chain to be on the other side?
Yes, it just requires an adjustment to your roller blind's control drive. Please contact our support team to get specific advice on how to achieve this.
Can I remove my roller blind?
Yes, you can. First ensure the blind is fully and firmly rolled up. Then, turn the clear plastic wheel in the idle end of the blind (this will only turn one way) until there is a click indicating the pin is fully retracted. You will now be able to remove the roller and fabric skin of the blind from the brackets.
How do I cover a wide window or sliding doors with blinds?
To achieve this you will need to measure the total width and divide it by the number of blinds required to cover it. For example, our roller blind width's max out between 2700 - 2900mm, so if you have a wide window of 6300mm, you will need to order 3 roller blinds at a width of 2100mm each (don't worry about deducting anything from each width, we'll do that for you). If you intend to have blinds fitted side-by-side, there are two operation options to choose from, dependent or independent. Dependent operation requires all blinds move in unison when operated by a single chain. Independent operation means each blind can be operated by its own chain (handy if you have an opening at one end of the window) - although the gaps between each blind will be larger to allow room for the chain control mechanisms. When ordering each blind for a side-by-side configuration, please mention in your order notes how you would like your operation to be set up, either dependently or independently. Once we have your order, we'll get in touch to confirm before proceeding.
How long does the rechargeable battery last in motorised roller blinds?
The included lithium-ion battery recharge frequency will vary based on blind size and frequency of use. However, generally speaking, we would expect at least 3 and up to 6 months between charges for an average sized blind (i.e., 1.5m x 1.5m).
Which window covering provides the most blackout?
The amount of external light a window covering can block will always vary based on environmental conditions as well as the product itself. However, based on typical installation conditions, a (slightly oversized) blockout curtain will always provide the most complete blackout solution. From our blinds ranges, we'd recommend a recess fitted honeycomb blind, face fitted backward rolling roller blind or a shutter, each of which best minimises the amount of light that can creep in.
How much do sheer curtains cost?
Our sheer curtains are affordably priced because you are buying directly from us, your WA-based manufacturers. However, their cost can vary based on your exact size and fabric choice. Explore our range of sheer curtains online and enter your measurements for an instant price!
When should I select centre opening curtains?
We recommend centre opening curtains when you want the ability to open and close each curtain side independently. This is practical for scenarios where one side may need to be opened for light or access while the other remains closed for privacy or shading.
Can I use a curved track on the outside of a corner?
Our curved tracks are only designed to be fitted within a 90 degree internal corner. We only supply internal curves as the curve protrusion is quite significant on external corners leading to inadequate light reduction and instances where the runners do not glide through the track as they're intended to.
Can all your curtains be made with either a sewn or a weighted hem?
All of our blockout curtains are made with a sewn hem as standard. Most of our sheer curtains are supplied with a weighted hem as standard. This is due to the way the sheer fabric rolls are supplied. However, we can make sheer weighted hems into sewn hems for an additional charge (20% the total curtain value). If you’d like to change any of your sheers from a weighted to a sewn hem, please let us know when placing your order.
How deep (from back to front) are your curtains?
Although the depth of the pleats will vary very slightly from curtain to curtain, S-Fold sheers or blockouts have an average depth of 110-120mm. Since our track sits in the middle of the S-fold shape, there will be about 55mm of fabric to the front of the track and 55mm to the back of the track. Our pinch pleat curtains have an average depth of around 90-100mm.
How deep (from back to front) are your double curtains?
For a dual S-fold double curtain, the average front to back depth will be about 240mm. For mixed pinch pleat and S-fold double, the average depth will be about 220mm and for a dual pinch pleat double it will be about 200mm.
Should I choose a curve curtain track or butt two tracks together?
Alongside some practical considerations, this normally depends on the look and functionality you're aiming for. Curved tracks are ideal for creating a continuous curtain across a narrower window alongside a wider one as there is a total width limit for curved track curtains. It's also important to note that our curved track system will only work for internal 90 degree corners, not external ones. Butting tracks together is better when you want each curtain to operate independently across two longer wall spaces. It's also the only option if you're installing on an external corner.
Can I order an asymmetrical curtain?
Yes, absolutely! This is where you select a centre opening, however, one side of the curtain is wider than the other (rather than them being identical widths). When ordering a centre opening curtain, please advise in your order notes the individual measurements of the left and right side curtain stacks, or contact us first for specific advice.
How much will my curtains bunch?
Bunching is an often overlooked but hugely important consideration when looking at curtaining your windows. A general rule of thumb is the bunching will be 30% of the width of your track. For example, if you have a 1000mm track, a left or right stack would have a width of 300mm on one side and a centre opening stack would have a width of 150mm on each side.
When should I face fix curtains?
Face fixing is where the track and brackets are mounted to the wall. Face fixing is typically used when your ceiling has a cornice providing some extra wriggle room when it comes to installation.
When should I top fix curtains?
Top fixing is where the track and brackets are mounted from the ceiling itself. This is typically used to create a dramatic ‘floor to ceiling’ effect, which is possible when there’s no cornice to contend with. However, it is also worth noting that unlike face fixing, your fitting position is not adjustable when you top fix from the ceiling.
Where are your curtains made?
All our curtains are manufactured locally in our Western Australian factory. Our family have been making them here since 1974. The factory is operated by some of the most experienced and talented curtain makers in Australia.
Can I hang your curtains on my existing track?
Yes, it is possible. However, we strongly recommend ordering a new track with your curtains to ensure they'll work together perfectly. If you'd really like to keep your existing track, get in touch and we'll see if we can tailor your curtain order to work with it.
How much extra fabric for S-fold blockout curtains?
Wave fold curtains, such as S-fold, require more fabric than just the window's width to achieve their signature fullness. We provide our S-fold curtains with 180-200% fullness, giving them ample depth and a truly luxurious finish.
What are the benefits of S-fold blockout curtains?

We recommend they are always hung from our designer track, as these items are manufactured to work together for optimal performance. Our designer tracks are made from high-quality aluminium, featuring a stylish, slim and compact design that is strong and reliable. Available in powder-coated white, black or platinum colour finishes, they come with matching brackets and clear acrylic hand wands for easy use. What is an S-fold blockout curtain?
An S-fold blockout curtain, also known as an S-curve or wave curtain, is a type of window treatment that creates a smooth, continuous wave-like appearance when hung. These curtains are crafted with fabric that is sewn into a special header tape, allowing the fabric to fall in gentle, uniform folds from top to bottom. This style allows for easy opening and closing, making it a practical and stylish solution for any space.
What type of shutter frame is best for my window?
Aesthetic preferences will often be a driving force behind the choice of shutter frame, but in some cases, practical issues are important too. We’d recommend looking at our Shutter product page and clicking on the ‘Customise & Order’ button to view our different frame options. If you are unsure about which type would be best for you, please send us some photos of your window and we’d be happy to supply our recommendation.
Will a protruding window handle negatively impact a recessed shutter fitting?
The simple answer is yes. That doesn’t mean you can't have a shutter but we need to check your window first and ask for a few measurements from you to ensure your desired shutter will work. Please get in touch with our team before ordering if you have a window with a protruding handle you wish to cover.
