Where are your curtains made?

All our curtains are manufactured locally in our Western Australian factory. Our family have been making them here since 1974. The factory is operated by some of the most experienced and talented curtain makers in Australia.

Can I pair a sheer curtain with a blockout curtain?

Yes, most definitely! We have a selection of recommended double curtains in our dedicated Double Curtains area. All the relevant options for suitable tracking, brackets and more will be presented when you progress through the ‘Customise & Order’ stage of your purchase. Or get in touch for expert advice on choosing and installing your preferred combination for double curtains.

How much will my curtains bunch?

Bunching is an often overlooked but hugely important consideration when looking at curtaining your windows. A general rule of thumb is the bunching will be 30% of the width of your track. For example, if you have a 1000mm track, a left or right stack would have a width of 300mm on one side and a centre opening stack would have a width of 150mm on each side.

What is 'coated' curtain fabric?

Coated curtain fabrics have an extra layer of blockout material "fused" to the back of the curtain fabric providing a comprehensive blockout solution. These fabrics are especially suited for bedroom windows to provide complete night time light blockout.

What is 'uncoated' curtain fabric?

Uncoated fabric means the fabric is a single layer of woven material and will not fully block out light. However, if an uncoated fabric is preferred for your home, we also offer a free blockout lining upgrade for a selection of our uncoated curtain fabrics.

What curtain heading styles are available?

We offer everything from traditional pencil pleat to triple pleat and on-trend S-fold (wave) pleats for the majority of our curtains. To find out which heading styles your preferred curtain fabric can be supplied in, head to any of the curtain product pages and they will be listed in the specifications and 'Customise & Order' area.

When should I select centre opening curtains?

We recommend centre opening curtains when you want the ability to open and close each curtain side independently. This is practical for scenarios where one side may need to be opened for light or access while the other remains closed for privacy or shading.

Should I choose a curve curtain track or butt two tracks together?

Alongside some practical considerations, this normally depends on the look and functionality you're aiming for. Curved tracks are ideal for creating a continuous curtain across a narrower window alongside a wider one as there is a total width limit for curved track curtains. It's also important to note that our curved track system will only work for internal 90 degree corners, not external ones. Butting tracks together is better when you want each curtain to operate independently across two longer wall spaces. It's also the only option if you're installing on an external corner.

Can I order an asymmetrical curtain?

Yes, absolutely! This is where you select a centre opening, however, one side of the curtain is wider than the other (rather than them being identical widths). When ordering a centre opening curtain, please advise in your order notes the individual measurements of the left and right side curtain stacks, or contact us first for specific advice.

When should I face fix curtains?

Face fixing is where the track and brackets are mounted to the wall. Face fixing is typically used when your ceiling has a cornice providing some extra wriggle room when it comes to installation.

When should I top fix curtains?

Top fixing is where the track and brackets are mounted from the ceiling itself. This is typically used to create a dramatic ‘floor to ceiling’ effect, which is possible when there’s no cornice to contend with. However, it is also worth noting that unlike face fixing, your fitting position is not adjustable when you top fix from the ceiling.

Can I hang your curtains on my existing track?

Yes, it is possible. However, we strongly recommend ordering a new track with your curtains to ensure they'll work together perfectly. If you'd really like to keep your existing track, get in touch and we'll see if we can tailor your curtain order to work with it.

Where are your sheer curtains made?

Our sheers are made right here in our Western Australian factory. The factory has been operational for over 45-years and is run by some of the most experienced (and talented!) curtain makers in Australia.

How do I clean my sheer curtains?

A care instruction label is sewn into the heading of all our sheer curtains (usually on the last pleat at one end of the curtain). These instructions will guide you on what specific cleaning method is recommended for the type of fabric used in your curtain. If you are ever in doubt, please contact us for further advice.

What is the difference between blockout and blackout curtains?

Blockout curtains and blackout curtains are terms often used interchangeably to describe curtains designed to significantly reduce light entering a room. The primary difference lies in the terminology preference, with 'blockout' being more commonly used here in Australia. Both types of curtains are crafted to offer superior room darkening features, making them ideal for bedrooms, media rooms, or any space where controlling light is essential. They also provide additional benefits such as enhancing privacy and improving energy efficiency by further insulating the room against heat and cold. Ultimately, whether referred to as blockout or blackout curtains, these window treatments are engineered to deliver comfort and convenience by creating a more controlled and comfortable indoor environment!

What are the benefits of S-fold sheer curtains?

S-fold sheer curtains offer a range of benefits that make them a standout choice for any home, these include great versatility as they easily complement both traditional and modern home styles and can be used solo or paired with a blockout curtain or roller blind for maximum effectiveness day and night; daytime privacy as the subtle but complex weave creates a natural barrier that adds peace of mind during the day while allowing softly-filtered natural light to create a warm and welcoming ambiance; beautiful flow as the continuous S-shaped folds create smooth, flowing lines that add elegance to instantly enhance an existing space; easy customisation thanks to the wide selection of colours, you can customise your S-fold sheers based on your style preferences, practical needs and budget.

What are the benefits of S-fold blockout curtains?

Our S-Fold blockout curtains offer a range of benefits that make them a standout choice for any home these include being the most effective light blocking option, ensuring your room remains dark for privacy and a good night’s sleep; enhanced energy efficiency as S-fold blockout curtains greatly help regulate indoor temperatures, making them an energy-efficient option and enhanced noise reduction as the thicker lined blockout fabric acts as a sound barrier, reducing noise pollution from outside - making them ideal for homes in busy areas or for creating a quiet, peaceful environment.

How to hang S-fold curtains?

To hang your S-fold curtain, simply loop the hooks on the back through the curtain runners. To create the signature wave effect with S-fold curtains, make small adjustments to ensure the waves are of even depth in front and behind the track. If some waves look ‘shallow’, gently push the fold back so it creates a deeper wave at the rear. Every track runner should have a dedicated hook on the curtain. Be careful, as skipping a runner can cause the curtain to hang unevenly!

How much extra fabric for S-fold curtains?

Wave fold curtains, such as S-fold, require more fabric than just the window's width to achieve their signature fullness. We provide our S-fold curtains with 180-200% fullness, giving them ample depth and a truly luxurious finish.

Do S-fold curtains need a special track?

Yes, our S-fold curtains need a specially designed track to perform properly. We recommend they are always hung from our designer track, as these items are manufactured to work together for optimal performance. Our designer tracks are made from high-quality aluminium, featuring a stylish, slim and compact design that is strong and reliable. Available in powder-coated white, black or platinum colour finishes, they come with matching brackets and clear acrylic hand wands for easy use. Our versatile designer track can easily accommodate S-fold blockout curtains in both single and double curtain configurations. Most importantly, they're easy to install – if we can do it, so can you!

What is an S-fold curtain?

An S-fold curtain, also known as an S-curve or wave curtain, is a type of window treatment that creates a smooth, continuous wave-like appearance when hung. These curtains are crafted with fabric that is sewn into a special header tape, allowing the fabric to fall in gentle, uniform folds from top to bottom. This style allows for easy opening and closing, making it a practical and stylish solution for any space.

Is self-installation difficult?

We’ve gone to great lengths to ensure all of our DIY installation processes are as simple as possible for a first-timer or experienced DIYer. There are lots of written and video guides on our website, printed instructions are sent with every order and we're always happy to help by email or phone!

How to measure for bay windows?

Bay windows can be a little tricky at time. Please email through a photo of your bay windows to our service team. We can let you know what furnishings we’d recommend. There are also 'How to' guides on measuring for bay windows in our ‘Measure and Install’ area.

Do I need to make any deductions?

As long as you make the relevant style selections when customising your order, we'll take care of all the deductions. This includes allowing for track height, finished position and curtain fullness.

Do you provide a measuring and installation service?

We're able to keep the price of our curtains and blinds so low because our customers do their own measuring and installation! However, our website offers a wealth of detailed information on how to measure and install, and we're very happy to talk you through the entire process by phone or email.

How long does an order take to arrive?

On average, our curtain orders take between 4 - 6 weeks to make and deliver. With blinds, this can be a little faster, typically 3 weeks. Due to the relative complexity and size, Shutters take around 8 weeks.

What is your returns policy?

As all our products are custom made-to-measure, we do not accept returns. However, in the rare event something with your order doesn't meet your expectations, we will always work with you to make it right. Please visit our 'Terms & Conditions' page to review our returns and warranty information in full.

Can I track my order progress and delivery?

Yes, absolutely. Once your order has moved into production, we will notify you. Then, when your order has been dispatched, we will send you a further email notification with the shipping and tracking information included. If you are looking for an update on the status of an order that has not been shipped, feel free to get in touch and we can provide an on-the-spot update by phone or email.

What payment options do you offer?

We accept Visa and Mastercard as credit card payment but not American Express. PayPal, Afterpay and Zip Pay are all available as well. A direct bank transfer payment can be arranged if no other payment options are possible. Please contact us if you'd like to discuss your payment options.

What do you charge for delivery?

For orders of over $199 value, we offer free delivery to major Australian metro locations. This excludes shutter orders, which cannot be shipped for free due to the parcel sizes and weights involved. Delivery costs for shutter orders are calculated at checkout before payment is required. For orders of less than $199 value or for orders being shipped to outer metro and regional areas (outside of the Northern Territory and Tasmania), we charge a modest $50 flat fee. Orders dispatched to the Northern Territory and Tasmania carry a standard flat fee of $150. We want to be as transparent as possible with our shipping costs, so please review our ‘Delivery & Returns’ page (via the link in the website footer) before ordering.

Do you ship curtains and blinds separately?

Yes, we do. Some of our blinds are manufactured at different factories with their own completion schedules and as we always ship our products as soon as they are ready, you’ll likely receive two separate order deliveries, even if you ordered your curtains and blinds together. You will also receive dedicated tracking information for each consignment. If you only receive one part of your order, don’t worry, the other will be close behind. As always, feel free to contact us if you’d like an update on your order delivery status.

Why are your curtains cheaper than many of your competitors?

Our curtains are made in our own West Australian factory, which means we can keep our costs down and pass the savings on to you, all while maintaining the highest standards in manufacturing quality.

Can I get fabric samples before ordering?

Yes, of course! We offer 10 samples for just $5 including free Australia-wide express postage, and sometimes we offer up to 10 samples or 1 favourites pack for free. Ordering is simple, just head to the 'Samples' page and select individual fabric samples by type, colour or fabric - or save some time and choose from our favourites pack collections!

What tools do I need to install curtains?

At a minimum, you'll need a measuring tape, pencil, screwdriver and cordless power drill. A spirit level is also helpful as is a safety ladder. We'll supply the brackets and 32mm 5-8G multi-purpose screws suitable for installing into plasterboard and timber studs or battens. For fixing into wall material like masonry, tile or metal, additional bespoke screws will need to be obtained separately as the ones we provide will not be suitable.
