We'd steer you away from ordering off house plans. Plan dimensions often shift once the build is finished, and custom-made items can't be returned, so a small discrepancy becomes an expensive one.
Plans show intended sizes, not the finished opening. Architraves, plaster, sills and bulkheads all change the real numbers once the trades are done.
What we recommend
- Wait until the window is built, then take physical measurements following our measuring guides.
- If you have to commit off a plan, know that custom items aren't returnable, so the risk sits with the plan's accuracy.
