Smart homeHow do I set up my motorised blinds with the Eve app, Apple HomeKit, or Android?
It depends which motor system is fitted to your blinds. C&BCo motorised blinds use one of three: Automate Basics, Motionblinds Bluetooth, or Eve Motionblinds, and each connects a little differently. Once your blinds are installed and powered, follow the path for your motor below.
Smart-home setup runs through the motor's own system, so the first step is knowing which motor is fitted to your blinds. This is set when you order. There are three.
Automate Basics
These motors are operated by the Basics remote, which controls up to 5 individual blinds or 5 groups, with up, down, stop, a programmable favourite position and adjustable operating speed. They do not connect to smart home apps or hubs. The motor sits inside the roller tube and recharges via a magnetic cable.
Motionblinds Bluetooth
These pair over Bluetooth with the Motionblinds app on your phone, so you need to be within Bluetooth range. You can also operate them with a remote control (purchased separately) or the manual pull chain. They recharge via the supplied USB-C cord.
Eve Motionblinds
These offer the widest smart home support. They connect via Thread enabled smart home hubs, with Apple HomeKit and Eve included, and can also be run from the Motionblinds app, a remote control (purchased separately) or the manual pull chain. They recharge via the supplied USB-C cord.
If pairing won't complete
- Confirm the blind is powered and the motor is awake.
- Check you're following the path for your motor system.
- Look for a firmware update in the motor's app.
- Restart the pairing from the beginning if a step times out.
