The light-filtering honeycomb cell is about 38mm flat and 25mm when the blind is open. The headrail is around 40mm deep front-to-back, and the wall bracket adds about another 5mm to that depth. You need at least 40mm of recess depth to install, and around 50mm for the headrail to sit flush.
These figures matter for a recess fit, because the headrail plus bracket has to clear anything sitting in the reveal.
The depths that affect fit
- Cell size: approximately 38mm flat, 25mm when open.
- Headrail depth: approximately 40mm front-to-back.
- Wall bracket: adds approximately 5mm to the front-to-back fitting depth.
- Minimum recess depth: 40mm to install, although the headrail may protrude slightly at that depth. Allow around 50mm for a flush fit.
