This is how to measure for curtains

Measuring your windows for curtains may seem daunting, but let us show you how easy it is!
Before commencing measuring, it's important to note that our curtains are always made to fit on the track we supply with the order.
When considering your track and curtain width, we recommend the track be between 150 and 300 millimetres wider than the window it's covering on each side. This helps the curtains elegantly frame the window when drawn open.
With this in mind, measure the exact width that you want for your track and use this for your order. This also goes for areas where you intend to fit a curtain across the entire width of a wall (we call this a 'wall-to-wall' order).
To measure the drop for face (wall) fixed curtains, measure from the top of intended track fixing position down to the floor in a few different places across the width. If the measurements differ, use the shortest measurement in your order.
You may want the track to sit near the cornice to achieve a ceiling-to-floor effect. With this in mind, measure where you want the top of the track to sit on the wall down to the floor ensuring there is a minimum 10mm gap from the underside of the cornice to the top of the track location. The 10mm gap ensures there is adequate room for your face fix brackets to be installed - without it, the curtain may sit lower than originally intended.
For top (ceiling) fixed curtain drops, measure from the ceiling surface to the floor in several places across the intended width and if the measurements differ, use the shortest measurement in your order.
Please note that if you are installing new flooring i.e., timber boards or carpet in the same room as your new curtains, it is safest to wait until the new flooring is installed before measuring the drop.
Once measuring is complete, you're ready to order!
When customising your new order, you can choose the finished drop position of your curtain. We always recommend new curtain orders sit off the floor (typically the curtain will clear the floor by about 5-10mm) as this provides some space for the fabric to settle and possibly drop slightly over time. You can also select no deduction (your curtain length including the track, will be as ordered) or puddling (your curtain will pool on the floor).
Please note that for top fix installation, selecting 'no deduction' removes any opportunity to fine tune the hanging position of your curtain in relation to your floor.
