Installing

Can I fit a roman blind where one side of the architrave is narrower?

Yes. We make the blind to the exact width you specify, so an uneven architrave is workable. Note that roman blinds are face fitted above the window, not recess fitted.

Because roman blinds face fit on top of the window rather than inside the recess, an uneven architrave does not stop the install. The key is choosing a width that clears both sides cleanly.

Measuring for a neat fit

Measure from a point about 15mm out from the wall on the narrower side, across to about 15mm past the outer edge of the architrave on the wider side. That gives even coverage without the blind catching the wall.

Note: Roman blinds can only be face fitted, never recess fitted. If a recess fit is a must for that window, a roller blind or curtains may suit better.

If you are weighing up the window, our roller blinds and curtains are alternatives worth a look.
