Measuring

Should I add extra length for spare fabric, or order to the exact size?

Order to the exact size you want finished. We add the correct allowances at the factory, so adding your own extra will make the curtain or blind the wrong size.

Our pricing and manufacturing are built around the finished size you enter, not the raw fabric size. When you give us your width and drop, that is the size the curtain or blind ends up.

Why exact is right

  • We handle hems, headings, and seam allowances for you
  • Adding your own 'extra' stacks on top of our allowances, so the result comes out oversized
  • For curtains, fullness (the gather across the track) is already built into the width calculation

Tip: For width on curtains, you choose how far to extend past the window. A common approach is 150mm to 300mm each side, or run wall to wall. The cornice affects the drop, not the width.

If you are unsure how to take the measurement, follow our measuring guide before you order.
