CareAre honeycomb blinds prone to mould and hard to clean?
Honeycomb blinds are not hard to clean, but the polyester cell fabric needs a gentler touch than a flat roller blind. Mould is uncommon, though it can appear in damp, shaded rooms if the blinds are left unmaintained.
The cellular construction traps a little more dust than a flat blind, so regular light cleaning keeps them looking fresh.
How to clean honeycomb blinds
- Vacuum the cells gently with a handheld vacuum or a soft brush attachment to lift dust.
- Spot-clean marks with a barely damp cloth, then let the fabric dry fully.
- Avoid soaking the cells, as trapped moisture is what can lead to mould.
Note: In high-moisture rooms like bathrooms or laundries that stay dark, keep the area ventilated and wipe up condensation so the cells dry out.
