Measuring

Can I switch my blind from recess fit to face fit, and how does that change the measurements?

Yes, you can switch from recess fit to face fit, but the measurements change, so you'll need to re-measure before you order. A recess size and a face-fit size are not the same number.

Recess fit means the blind sits inside the window opening, measured to the exact opening. Face fit means the blind mounts on the wall or architrave in front of the opening, so you add overlap on each side and at the top for proper light coverage.

Tip: For a face fit, most people add overlap each side and above the opening so the blind covers the gaps a recess fit would leave. Use our measure guide to get the face-fit numbers right.

If your order hasn't gone into production yet, send us your updated face-fit width and drop and we'll adjust it. If you're unsure which numbers to give us, the measuring guide walks through both fit types.
