InstallingShould I mount my curtains to the ceiling or below the cornice?
Both work. A ceiling mount makes the ceiling feel higher and the curtains read floor-to-ceiling, while mounting below the cornice gives a more traditional look. The right choice depends on your room and how much drama you want.
Ceiling mount
Fixing the track to the ceiling, above the cornice, draws the eye up and makes the window feel taller. It's the go-to for a clean, full-height look, especially with double curtains where the sheer and blockout both run the full drop.
Below the cornice
Mounting on the wall below the cornice is the more traditional approach. It's simpler to install and frames the window rather than the whole wall.
Note: Your mount choice changes the drop measurement, so decide before you measure. A ceiling mount means a longer drop than a below-cornice mount on the same window.
If you're running a sheer and blockout together, check the bracket projection clears both tracks before you order.
