How-toCan I ceiling-fix roller blinds and curtains, and do I measure differently?
Yes, both curtain tracks and roller blinds can be ceiling-fixed, which is handy when there's no wall room above the window. Measure for the track or headbox width you want, not the window opening, since a ceiling mount sits in front of the recess.
Ceiling fixing suits floor-to-ceiling windows, wide spans, or any spot where the wall above the frame is too shallow for brackets.
What changes when you measure
- For curtains, set the track width you want the curtains to cover, then add overlap each side so they clear the glass when open.
- For roller blinds, a ceiling (top) fix is a face-fit measurement: measure the width you want the blind to cover, not the recess.
- Note the fix type on your order so the brackets supplied suit a ceiling mount.
Note: Ceiling-fixed roller blinds sit forward of the recess, so they won't tuck inside the window reveal.
