Most "best sheer curtains" lists are written by people who have never sewn one. This one is different, and we should be upfront about why: every curtain below is ours. We cut and sew each of these ranges in our own Western Australian factory, so rather than pretend to be a neutral reviewer, we will tell you exactly what each fabric is best at, what it costs, and where another range beats it.
How we judged this list
We rank our sheers on the things that decide whether a curtain still looks right in five years, not on how they photograph on day one. Four criteria carry the most weight:
- Drape and hem construction. A sheer is a light fabric, so it needs help to hang straight. Nearly all of our ranges ship with a discreet 5mm weighted hem as standard, and you can choose a sewn hem instead if you prefer one.
- Weave stability. An open weave lets light through, but a loosely constructed one drops its shape over time. We favour fabrics that hold their form.
- Drop capability. Maximum drop varies a lot between fabrics, from 2650mm to 6000mm across this list. If you have high ceilings, this single spec should drive your shortlist.
- Fullness. Every S-fold sheer we make is sewn at a minimum of 2.08 times the track width, and we publish the full cutting schedule so you can check the maths yourself.

Do sheers give privacy?
What is a weighted hem and do I need one?
A weighted hem is a slim 5mm weight sewn into the bottom of the curtain that helps a light fabric hang straight and drape evenly. It is standard on nearly all of our sheer ranges, and you can choose a sewn hem instead when you order.
