How-toWhat is the difference between sunscreen and light-filtering fabrics for roman blinds?
Sunscreen fabric has an open weave you can see through to the outside while it filters glare and UV; light-filtering fabric is denser, softening the light without a view out. Choose sunscreen for view and glare control, and light-filtering for privacy.
Sunscreen fabric
The open weave keeps your outlook during the day and cuts a high share of incoming UV. The trade-off is privacy at night: once an inside light is on, people outside can see in.
Light-filtering fabric
A tighter weave diffuses the light into a soft glow and holds privacy both day and night. You lose the view to the outside in return.
Tip: If glare on a screen or a hot western window is the problem, sunscreen wins. If it is a street-facing room where privacy matters, go light-filtering.
