How-toHow do I stop my roller blinds banging against the window in the wind?
Stick a strip of adhesive felt to the back edges of the blind's bottom rail. It cushions the rail against the glass so a draught can't make it clatter. We don't supply the felt, but any major hardware store sells it cheaply.
Roller blinds can swing and tap the window when a breeze gets behind them, especially near an open window. A soft buffer on the bottom rail solves it.
How to fix it
- Buy adhesive felt strips from a hardware store. They're often sold to stop furniture scratching timber floors.
- Cut the felt to length and stick it along the back edges of the bottom rail, where it meets the glass.
- The felt softens the contact, so the rail rests quietly instead of banging.
Tip: For windows you open often, a pair of hold-down brackets at the sill is a sturdier fix. They clip the bottom rail in place so it can't swing at all.
