How-to

How do I remove the control mechanism to adjust my blind chain, and can I get replacement chain clips?

The control mechanism on the end of a chain-operated blind pulls out by hand, so you can access and adjust the chain. When you put it back, make sure the chain runs freely so it does not snap.

  1. 1

    Pull out the control mechanism

Grip the control end of the blind and pull it out by hand, no tools needed.

  2. 2

    Adjust the chain

Make your adjustment, keeping the chain clear of the housing.

  3. 3

    Refit and test

Push the mechanism back in and check the chain runs freely so it can't jam or snap.

Replacement chain clips

We can supply replacement clips for the chains. Email info@curtainandblindco.com.au with your order details and we will arrange them.

Note: A chain that catches or runs stiff is the main cause of snapping, so check it moves smoothly before you refit the mechanism.
