ShuttersHow do I measure and order shutters for a window with an added frame or sill?
Give us the full window width and drop, plus the height from the bottom of the window to the sill. If the sill sticks out from the wall, you may need a midrail so the panels sit flush, and you tell us the midrail position when you order.
Plantation-style shutters need a few extra details when the window has a built-up frame or a protruding sill, because the panels have to clear it cleanly.
What to provide
- Full window measurements: width and drop.
- The height from the bottom of the window to the sill.
- A midrail position, if the sill protrudes from the wall.
- Your panel configuration (how the panels split and fold).
If the window has no sill, order as normal and choose face fit if you want the shutters mounted on the wall in front.
Tip: Not sure where the midrail should sit? Email info@curtainandblindco.com.au with your window photos and measurements and our team will mark it up for you before you order.
