Are honeycomb blockout blinds suitable for a bathroom?

Yes, honeycomb blockout blinds work in a bathroom as long as the fabric stays clear of direct running water. Keep them away from the shower spray, because water sitting in the cells can damage the honeycomb structure.

Honeycomb fabric is built from sealed cells that trap air for insulation. Those cells handle everyday humidity fine, but they are not designed to dry out after a soaking.

Tip: Mount the blind on a window that is not right beside the shower, and run the exhaust fan during and after a hot shower to clear the steam.

If the window sits directly in the wet zone, a roller blind in a moisture-tolerant fabric is usually the safer pick.
