Measuring

Do I need to allow for pleats when I measure my curtains?

No. The pleating is already built in, so you measure and order to the finished width you want the curtain to cover, and we add the extra fabric for the folds.

Fullness is the amount of extra fabric in a curtain compared with the track it hangs on, and it is what gives sheers their deep, even gather. We add it during manufacturing, so it never needs to be factored into your measurement. For S-fold curtains we publish the full cutting schedule, size by size, in our S-fold fullness guide.

That means you measure the track or rail width you want covered, and nothing more. There's no need to multiply your measurement or add fabric for the pleats yourself.

Tip: Width is your call. Many people extend the curtain 150mm to 300mm past each side of the window, or run it wall to wall, so the curtain stacks off the glass when open.
