Sheers are the ultimate daytime privacy tool but provide minimal privacy at night. This is because the contrast between bright indoor lights and the dark outside makes sheer fabric transparent, so silhouettes will be visible at night when your interior lights are on. For better night time privacy we recommend double curtains, allowing you to pair your sheer with a dedicated blockout layer.

Sheer curtains should be cleaned gently to protect the fabric and keep the drape looking its best. A care instruction label is sewn into the heading of all our sheer curtains, usually on the last pleat at one end of the curtain. These instructions will guide you on the cleaning method recommended for your fabric. If you are ever in doubt, please contact us for advice.

Sheer curtains are designed to filter light, soften glare and create daytime privacy, while blockout curtains are designed to darken a room, improve privacy and help reduce heat transfer. Many homes use both together: sheers for soft filtered light during the day, and blockout curtains for privacy, darkness and insulation at night.

Yes, of course you can. You can choose from S-fold, pinch pleat, triple pleat or pencil pleat for most of our sheer curtains. Choosing the perfect sheer curtain colour depends on the mood and style you are going for. Crisp white sheers make a room feel brighter. Off-white and cream add softness and warmth.
