How to install chain control Roman blinds

Now you have your new Roman blind, let's dive into the installation process. But before commencing, please check that all the below fixing parts have been supplied.

The number of parts will vary in relation to the size and number of blinds supplied.

The following tools and instruments are required to complete installation safely and accurately:

• Power drill

• Phillips head screwdriver

• Pencil, pad & tape measure

• Spirit level

• Small step ladder (if required)

• Protective eyewear & gloves (if drilling into masonry, metal or tile)

Installing your Roman blinds

Before commencing, verify the correct fitting position using your order summary. A face fit blind will sit on the outside frame or architrave of your window.

1. Install the mounting brackets

Roman blinds are always to be installed face fit. The mounting brackets are fixed directly to the architrave or wall (spaced evenly). Ensure all mounting brackets are level and fixed at least 10mm from each end of the track.

2. Attach the headrail

Position the back edge of the track into the back hooks of the mounting brackets and gently push upwards until the track “snaps” into place. In the event of needing to remove the track, press the release button on the front of the mounting brackets and remove the track.

3. Install the child safety device

Position the child safety device at the bottom of the chain loop drop and screw it into the mounting surface (face or recess as relevant), making sure that the looped chain hangs with minimal tension.

Important Safety Information

The Australian Competition and Consumer (Corded Internal Window Coverings) Safety Standard states that a corded internal window covering ‘must be installed in a way that a loose cord cannot form a loop 220mm or longer and at less than 1600mm above floor level’.
