This is how to measure for curtains

Measuring your windows for curtains may seem daunting, but let us show you how easy it is!

Before commencing measuring, it's important to note that our curtains are always made to fit on the track we supply with the order.

When considering your track (and curtain) width, we recommend the track be between 150 and 300 millimetres wider than the window it's covering. This helps the curtains elegantly frame the window when drawn open.

With this in mind, measure the exact width that you want for your track (this also goes for areas where you intend to fit a curtain across the entire width of a wall - we call this a 'wall-to-wall' order).

Next, measure from the top of intended track position down to the floor. We also recommend that the track should sit at least 150 millimetres above the top of the window frame, however, the final location is completely up to you!

Once measuring is complete, you're ready to order.

While customising your order, you'll be presented with some options around the final position of the curtain in relation to your floor. Choose from either Off the floor (curtain should hang about 10mm above the floor), No deduction (curtain will be supplied at the ordered length) or Puddling (curtain fabric should pool on the floor). If required, we'll then make the necessary size adjustments to ensure your curtains fit perfectly based on your order choices.

DIY Curtains: Can You Install Sheers Yourself?

Absolutely — and it's easier than most people think. If you can handle a cordless drill, you can install sheer curtains yourself. Modern DIY curtain systems come with everything you need: the track, brackets, screws, hand wands, and clear installation guides.
The key is getting your measurements right before you order. Measure your window width and drop in three places (left, centre, right) and use the smallest measurement. This accounts for any unevenness in your ceiling or window frame and ensures a clean, professional fit.
For S-fold sheers — the most popular heading style for that contemporary, wave-like drape — a designer aluminium track is included, and installation is straightforward whether you're face-fixing to the wall above the window or top-fixing directly to the ceiling for a dramatic floor-to-ceiling look.
