In recent years, however, these blackout curtains have become highly sought-after features in media rooms, TV rooms and lounge areas, and any other space where the ability to control temperature, light and noise is desired. And because our blackout curtains are Australian made, you can be sure they’ve been tested to blockout the sometimes-harsh Australian sun.
Blockout curtains are a great solution for anyone looking to insulate their home, create privacy, reduce noise and, of course, block out light. Just because these curtains are highly functional, however, doesn’t mean they can’t make a big design impact as well. We offer high-quality, custom-made blockout curtains online in a range of styles so, whatever your personal tastes, you should be able to find the ideal window dressings for your space.
With a variety of different pleats, a whole host of attractive colours and a chic choice of patterns available, you’ll have no shortage of options when it comes to creating the perfect blockouts to complement your decorative scheme. What’s more, you can further personalise your drapes by choosing how they’ll open (centre, left-to-right, or right-to-left). Of course, at The Curtain & Blind Company, all of our window dressings are made to measure the exact dimensions of your windows so you’ll be sure to get the perfect fit the first time around.
We make buying blackout curtains online easy and convenient, meaning no more trawling the high street in search of the perfect shade or pleat. When it comes to window treatments, however, we know that many people like to get up close and personal before they make a purchase. That’s why we operate an easy-to-order sample service. So if you see something you like, but aren’t ready to buy, why not order a sample to check it out?

Yes, definitely. Just be sure you order a custom track with each curtain, then give us a call to request our double track curtain brackets.
These fabrics are very versatile and will blockout most light. However it should be noted that this is more a room darkening material as opposed to full blockout.
Uncoated means the fabric is a single layer and will not fully blockout light. However, we offer free blockout lining as an option for all our uncoated fabrics.
Coated curtain fabrics have a layer of blockout material fused to the back of the material to provide full blockout through the material.
The room will be considerably dark. Blackout curtains are designed to blockout sunlight and keep your flooring, furniture and valuables safe from sun damage as well as provide privacy. There may, however, still be some light coming through.
