How to measure for face fit blinds
How do you measure up for face fit blinds?
Correct measuring is the key to easy, hassle-free installation. So, it’s worth taking the time to get it right.
Before we get started with the guide, you’ll need a metal tape measure, a pencil, paper, and if required, a sturdy step ladder to get to high places.
Got them? Great, let’s go!
Face fitting is where the blind is fixed to sit on the outside the window recess or frame. This is typically done to provide greater light blocking effectiveness and privacy, or just due to the fact that the recessed area of the window frame has seen better days!
To measure for face fitting blinds, first measure the outside width of the window frame in millimetres across the top, middle and bottom and record the largest measurement to proceed with. This ensures all of the window will be covered, even if the frame varies in shape slightly at some points (more common with timber frames).
Next, measure the outside height of the window, starting from the point at which you’d like your blind to sit above the window, down to the point at which you’d like your blind to finish. Again take three measurements – left, middle and right, and record the largest measurement to enter.
Once you’ve recorded your measurements, head to the relevant product page’s ‘Customise & Order’ area to enter your details and complete your order. Then, after just a few weeks, we’ll send your fabulous new custom-fit blinds to your door.
Of course, we think this should be pretty simple to do but then we would, we do this for a living! if you’re in anyway unsure of how to proceed with measuring, please get in touch with our team by phone or email and we’ll be happy to provide specific advice.
